Know Where You’re Going, And Why

What I’m about to say may sound like a cliché; nonetheless, it’s true.
You have full control over what your next steps in life will be. The ultimate question you have to answer before taking them is, “Where am I going, and why?”
Look all around you and realize that you’re where you are right now in life based on the choices and decisions you’ve previously made. Every thought you think is what you’ve chosen to think. Any fears that have stopped or delayed you, you allowed them to stand. And any people who have distracted or influenced you in any way, you’ve allowed them to contribute to where you are right now today.
The only question that matters at this point is, “Where are you going, and why?”
Your current situation, whatever it may be, is a perfect starting point for a new beginning. You have what it takes to move boldly and progressively forward in the direction of your own choosing.
It was Sir William Osler who said, “Live neither in the past nor in the future, but let each day’s work absorb your entire energies, and satisfy your widest ambition.”
The energy is always there inside you. What you do with it and the way you direct that energy can make all the difference in the world.
Where are you going, and why?! Do you know?
It was David Starr Jordan who said, “Wisdom is knowing what to do next; virtue is doing it.”
Success and fulfillment, achievement and purpose are not mere matters of luck. Rather, they flow directly from your vision, choices and decisions.
Where are you going, and why?
Make it your personal assignment this evening to think through, clarify and write down your thoughts, choices and decisions to the question,
“Where am I going, and why?”
Remember with each and every choice and decision you make, you determine the path your life will proceed on. When you know where you’re going, and why? potholes in your path won’t matter, distractions on your path won’t matter, and toxic people who try to derail you from your way won’t matter.
