Poem: The Intelligent Fool Who Never Lived

There once was an intelligent fool,
Who believed in always playing it safe.
Why take risks in life,
For this person it was a waste.
A waste of time and money,
And efforts too.
There was absolutely no need,
To impress you, me, or you.
The one thing this person never realized,
Was the self-imposed shelter they were in.
Because day after day,
True living would never begin.
There was never any stretching one’s self,
To see what achievement could be obtained.
There was never family or children,
To continue family traditions or name.
There was never any thirst for education,
To learn, progress, and grow.
There was never any dreams to capture,
Cause life was only to be so-so.
There were never any bumps or bruises,
Relationship conflicts or pain.
How can life-like things happen,
When each day is safe and the same.
At the height of it all,
I’m sure you can now see my friend.
This intelligent fool’s life never blossomed,
Because it was tied up in knots from beginning to end.
