Do you know the path to happiness? This path usually varies from person to person. What makes one person happy might not necessarily make another person happy. Yet, the common thread that exists regardless the varying path a person takes is the fact that Self-Love has to always be present on one’s journey to happiness. Without Self-Love happiness cannot and will not sustain itself in the present. When you love yourself through a high amount of self-esteem, self-respect, self-worth, and peace of mind, you will continuously find yourself happy with yourself and life. This is why I encourage everyone to make Self-Love a permanent healthy habit.

How can you make Self-Love a permanent healthy habit and fixture in your life? Below are some practical and useful techniques for developing and achieving such a beneficial reward for you and your life:

Stop having undue expectations of oneself: Have reasonable expectation, and be happy when you are able to achieve them. And, love yourself for that achievement, and give some reward for that. When we focus on the positive things in life, we tend to be happier. And, when we focus on the negative things, we don’t have time to look at all the wonderful things. Obstacles and failures will always be there, and the biggest thing would be to take it in one’s stride.

Stop comparing and stop procrastinating: A lot of people waste their lives and energies in comparing themselves with others, and procrastinating themselves. When you compare yourself with others, you are bound to be unhappy, as there would always be somebody who is doing better than you. So, your comparison should only be with yourself. You should try to compare yourself with whatever you were some time back. When you don’t aim for perfectionism, you would be able to get things done soon, and in a better way. Also, it would help you in performing better in all other areas of life.

Be kind: You should be kind to yourself and towards the other people. The kindness shown to the other people, can make you love yourself, and feel proud about it. When you lend your ears to listen to somebody, or give compliments, you are showing kindness, which will make the other person happy. And, this, in turn, will make you happy, as well.

When you start loving yourself, you would be able to live your life in a better way. Self-Love does not mean being obsessed with oneself, or being vain. It is all about having a high amount of self-esteem and self-respect. So, it is all about changing the mind-set. When we love ourselves, we would be able to love others, as well.

So, make Self-Love a permanent healthy habit, and see yourself living a healthy and wonderful life. When you love yourself, your life would become much simpler, and easier. And, you would also see the people reacting to you in a different way, when you give a look of self-love, self-satisfaction, and self-fulfilment. Go easy on your life, and take your life one day at a time. You can get more information on self-love by reading Robert H. Schuller’s book, “Self-Love”, and my book “Untie the KnotsTM That Tie Up Your Life”.

Now, go have fun and peace of mind while Making Self-Love Your Permanent Healthy Habit.
